I can't believe I haven't found this thread yet. I joined a couple weeks ago. My name is Chase, and I'm located in Bakersfield, CA. I've currently got 4 species of roaches (Hissers, Tiger Hissers, Cave Roaches, and Oriental Roaches), a pair of millipedes (Chicobolus Spinigerus), a tarantula (Aphonopelma Californicum), and a scorpion (Pandinus Imperator), plus some more new additions coming in this week. _________________ "Paranoia driving me insane; Paranoia ripping through my brain; Paranoia making me believe; Paranoia, that somebody's after me!"

welcome. are cave roaches the real big blaberoids? you should be able to catch a decent array of stuff in Bakersfield. definitely in Scolpendra polymorpha (NA tiger centipede) and Scolopocryptops (giant blind centipedes... they usually aren't particularily giant though)... a number of neat scorpion species, and you have already found the tarantulas

Welcome Francisco! It's nice to have you here in our group.
I'm sure that we can all learn a lot from each other!
I hope that you stay with us for a long time, and that we can share our knowledge with one another.
It's great to meet you.
Hehehehehe....just kidding.
FINALLY you make an "introduce yourself" post!!! _________________ -Neshan W. Sarkisian

I used to keep T's when I was younger (from 10-12 years old) I only had about 7 t's and a few scorps, but at that age it was a bit of an accomplishment. One night I had an ant invasion and all my T's were killed while I slept.
It's been awhile... im now 22, and started keeping T's again. A friend gave me 2 N. Chromatus, 2, OBT and 2 Curlies. Today I purchased a C. Fasciatum as well.
I'm from HB. "cacoseraph" sent me
And im going to work stopping by here into my online routine.
I joined a few days ago, and figured I'd post in here.
My name is Brittany, I live in La Puente 91744, but spend a decent amount of time in Montclair 91768. I just got started in the hobby, I have two B. smithi slings, and plan to get many more Ts, and maybe a few hissing roaches. I'm a recovering arachnophobe, and still have issues with other inverts, but i'm getting there.
I work part time as a pet photographer, and almost full time doing taxes for H&R Block.
My other hobbies include knitting, crocheting, photography, photoshop, computers, music, watching TV... the list goes on.
I'm not really an interesting person, but I'd like to get acquainted with other locals if I ever have the time.
Just the fact that you're overcoming a phobia, and doing it in the most awesome way possible, makes you VERY interesting!
I hope you enjoy your time here with SCABIES. Will we be seeing you at the BBBQ on Saturday? Should be a big event! _________________ -Neshan W. Sarkisian

There may be people who like centipedes. I have seen people handling tarantulas and scorpions, but never a centipede handler. I would regard such a person with deep suspicion...Now what sort of man or woman or monster would stroke a centipede on its underbelly "And here is my big good centipede." If such a man exists, I say kill him without more ado. He is a traitor to the human race.

it sounds like fun, but i have to work
Right now I'm working 9-5 during the week, and 9-6 on weekends. it sucks.
I'll extend a hearty welcome, also. Maybe you can join us on our occasional informal get-togethers, sometimes just 4 or 5 of us, or even two of us meet up somewhere and talk bugs. _________________ Crazy Dave's Inverts - "Your prescription for arachnid addiction"

Nonsense. By joining SCABIES you instantly become interesting. Seriously, your description of activities sounds a lot like me and I happen to be a VERY interesting person. OK, except for the knitting and crocheting part . . .

I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are in alphabetical order, like they should be.
