Wow, 1 of mine has molted 4x's and the other 2 3x's, dont have the exact dates off the top of my head.
Every body that has slings from Johnny should do a write up of conditions, temps, size and feeding schedule and try to do a life study and compare notes....

My big girl (?) is taking over my apartment. She ate my cat.
After an additional molt:

Dave,

Your Wolf is looking AWESOME!!

What do you keep her in? Does anyone know how big the males get? Maybe the males don't even get as big as yours. Can you sex these tiny guys with their molts if you sent it to somebody with a microscope?

Mine is definitely over an inch but nothing like Dave's! I just fed her a dubia nymph after reading this post and took a couple pics. I'll try to post them soon.

Johnny, How are the Ethel and Mildrid doing? Do wolf spiders have multiple sacs?

Ethel is fine but Mildred is in spider heaven feasting on chocolate covered crickets and having sex will the males without the burden of dragging egg sacs nor free-loading kids.

She's in a small KK with coco fibre. That is one fast and skittish spider. She can take down the largest size cricket now. From the size of her booty now I think there's no doubt that she's female.

Yeah, they are wicked fast and very skittish. Mine got loose on the kitchen counter when I was rehousing it last time and I thought I was going to lose her for certain.

Her are a couple pics of mine (not the same quality of Dave's pics mind you... ) to give you an idea of how she/he is doing.

After giving her the huge cricket, I realized in hindsight that I should have pulled off the cricket"s hind legs. I won't be making that mistake again. I don't normally give her meals that huge. True spiders are such fearless hunters.

I can't believe I raised this spider from the tiny little fruitfly size thing it was when I first got it from Johnny. I think these were all Mildred's babies weren't they? Maybe when somebody gets a MM we could breed it back to Ethel.

Anyway, here she/he is...

That's a *ferocious* girl you have there, Jules!  Amazing to see her eat that huge cricket!

Wouldn't you just love to be able to have one the size of a blondi?

Actually, I got what appears to be a Rabidosa Rabida look-alike which appears to be even larger than Ethel. (that is such an innapropriate name for her, it should be something like "Elvira" or "Medussa" or "Delilah"). I believe I might have a male but is it ok?? I mean, they are from Carolina after all....  Rolling Eyes

Okie Dokie, after 310 days she molted again. She's one big bad girl. And I like that in a spider. Yeah, I know, things grow big and fast at my place. I didn't expect another molt; I thought she was all done with that stuff. Anyway, here's the old gal and once again, thank you Johnny.

OK, this just crazy. Two molts ago I thought she was mature but now she's molted yet again! It's been 126 days since the last molt. The previous one took 310. My neighbor raises chihuahuas and I get the imperfect ones to feed her.

Be afraid. Be very afraid.
