Hello,
We were invited to the following event:
Francisco,
We would like to invite you and SCABIES to join us at our Fall Exhibit at Placerita Cyn on October 10th. Setup will be from 8-9 am. Please let me know how much space you will need.
We will have the entire nature center for this event and look forward to the largest show that we have had in a few years. We should have at least twice as many visitors as we had at Eaton Cyn. We will have at least one Chumash storyteller and one dance group.
Please submit a list of animals that you will be showing. I will need the common and scientific names of each species, the size of your containers, and any special nees like electricity, being against a wall vs. windows, etc. Tom Hagan will type up exhibit cards for each animal with the name of the exhibitor. We will need this information by the end of Sept.
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you there.
Sharon
OK everyone interested on participating please let me know and also send me a list of the inverts you would like to bring to show as well as what it is asked on the letter above.
I am looking forward to get many new members to come and join us so we can educate the public.
for those who live in the Valley, this will be a great time to come and meet with us, not exactly a BBBQ but a nice gathering were we can share our passion with the public.
By the way, I would love to fill 3 tables, so inverts and reptiles are welcome, just send me the list so I can forward it to Sharon before the due date.
Tell Sharon I'll bring Corucia! :-) I could bring my son's Emperor Scorpion and her babies, too.
Is the public going to be handling the animals? If so, I could also bring Vinegaroons and Tiger Hissers. _________________ "Tarantulas are friends, not food" (but I bet they taste pretty good with butter and lemon!)
I had mentioned to Francisco I'd help him out as well.
I'll send you a list of animals I'll be bringing by the end of day tomorrow _________________ God does not play at dice AE
i will bring my dragons as usual _________________ I adopt tarantulas, scorpions, trapdoor spiders and tortoise. .....Web of sorrow ... (by Trentea Sebastian) The darkest corner of the room Was bound to be my home. Abandoned, feeling only gloom, I cry 8 tears, alone.
Here's what I have:
1.0.0 b.vagans, 4.5." Handsome boy, predictable, but I wouldn't handle him. He's a nice, hardy boy, though; he's the one I have taken to schools the most.
0.0.1 a.avic, 4.5." Adorable. S/He's in premolt at the moment, however.
0.1.0 b.smithi, 3.25." The girl you sold me. She's molted twice since! She's a scaredy cat, though; not sure I'd even try hold her. You can try if you want...
0.0.2 a.versicolors, 1." Pretty little babies, beautiful iridescent blue with tiger stripey butts. They love being held, though they do go off running sometimes.
0.0.1 a.azuraklaasi, 0.75". Too young to be handled by the unwashed public? However, this is the single most loving and affectionate T I have ever met.
Yay! Something close! The only thing I have to share that you guys probably don't have a million of is my legless lizard aka Sheltopusik aka Ophisaurus apodus. It probably will not be cold, but if it is, I'd like to at least give him a heat pad. And I won't let the public hold him. He's a little mean and someone would end up dropping him. I'm an overprotective mother, what can I say? _________________ Mommy loves her little Monsters.
Last time they did one of these things, they didn't let us take the animals out or let people hold them anyway. I don't know what the rules will be this time. _________________ "Tarantulas are friends, not food" (but I bet they taste pretty good with butter and lemon!)
Yeah -- the Corucia are in 2'x2'x3' enclosures at home, but I put them in something about 18"x18"x24" for display. I'm getting too old to lug gigantic enclosures all over the place. _________________ "Tarantulas are friends, not food" (but I bet they taste pretty good with butter and lemon!)
i might be able to go, but might need to arrange a ride. i have never even heard of Placerita, that i can recall =P _________________

There may be people who like centipedes. I have seen people handling tarantulas and scorpions, but never a centipede handler. I would regard such a person with deep suspicion...Now what sort of man or woman or monster would stroke a centipede on its underbelly "And here is my big good centipede." If such a man exists, I say kill him without more ado. He is a traitor to the human race.
It's our nature center here in Santa Clarita. It's been closed for remodeling for the past couple years. My six-year-old could probably give you a guided tour of all the trails. We've been there a million times! _________________ Mommy loves her little Monsters.

Hi, Andrew
I can offer you a ride, but won't have time to drive out to Rancho Cucamonga to pick you up beforehand. Let me know if you want a ride and can get closer to Pasadena.

I will bring some adult tarantulas but i'm still deciding which one i'm going to bring. i will post it this week when i finally decide. _________________ I adopt tarantulas, scorpions, trapdoor spiders and tortoise. .....Web of sorrow ... I got confirmation on the 3 tables for the SCABIES group.
I will be submiting the list of animals tonight.
So what ever is on the list is what will be on display as they will be making us some labels with the scientific and the common name.
I was also asked for the name of the owner in case they need to ask a question on that certain animal.
Emo, if you get back to me by tonight, lets say 10-10:30 I can add your Ts to the list.
Herpetologyfrk: The_Arachnid's mom might be driving him over to my house (from Ontario) -- check and see if you can hitch a ride with them and I can give you a ride from here.
Francisco: I probably can't make it by 9 am (probably a little bit later). What time does it end in the evening? _________________ "Tarantulas are friends, not food" (but I bet they taste pretty good with butter and lemon!)
