last time i was in arizona, i stopped the car for what i thought was going to be just a snake. well turns out.. well, it was a snake, but it was getting munched by a heros!! now the snake did get hit by a car previously, but this is still pretty cool!

i know they are commonly found scavenging on road kill. friends and i have commonly found them eating road kill toads and rodents. it was funny to me because i stopped for a snake and got a centipede. on top of that, it is a morph that i had not expected to be found there. i had not expected the banded form to be found where i was.

Arizona should be loaded with things crawling around. You shouldn't have a problem finding either T's or scorpions all around (try the rest stops along the way as well ).
And as you can see, you may just find 'pedes eating snakes out there. :p _________________ God does not play at dice AE
i wonder if this means some populations get more semi-traditional meat than others?
though, it might be that feedingon roadkill is limited to individuals in the population and is not general behavior... or there just isn't enough roadkill (one hopes) to make much of a difference in the population
good stuff Josh! thanks for posting
oh, and that pede is beautiful  _________________

There may be people who like centipedes. I have seen people handling tarantulas and scorpions, but never a centipede handler. I would regard such a person with deep suspicion...Now what sort of man or woman or monster would stroke a centipede on its underbelly "And here is my big good centipede." If such a man exists, I say kill him without more ado. He is a traitor to the human race.
I never knew that they could even do this! Mice yes but snakes?! Hell no! If someone had told me this without pics I wouldn't believe them because I would've thought that the snakes would eat the poor things.
Obviously I was wrong......so wrong. But this is cool!
Habibi: the snake was already killed by a car. The centipede was just scavenging. _________________ "Tarantulas are friends, not food" (but I bet they taste pretty good with butter and lemon!)
