Ok I wasn't sure where to put this in the form so I just threw it here. I don't know if any of you here have been to a place called LLL (tripple L) reptiles in Oceanside, but I just went there for the first time and MUST write a good reveiw about it.
First of all, i'd like to comment on how EVERY reptile was extremely healthy and clean, the cleanest shop i've ever seen and the most variety of reptiles (and scorpions!!!!) i've ever seen in a reptile store before.
like i said before, they had an AWSOME variety of scorps.. some I remeber were Deathstalkers, Asain flatrocks, a few different kinds of emps, desert hairy, and for some reson i can't remeber all of them but there were atleast 15 different speices when i was there. They also had a load of T's but I didn't ask about them cause i was freaking out like a giddy little school girl hehe.
So if any of u are ever in that area i would sugest stopping... it's worth the drive for me!!!
I didn't buy anything there (yet) so i didn't get any advice, but they did give me some really good breeding advice for my beardies, stuff i already knew, but still really good and also gave me a bunch of containers for free which i thought was really cool too.
Another thing I kinda forgot which was also a huge plus, was that when I bought a grip of super worms I noticed that they kept them in oats/grain insted of the normal saw dust which I was very very happy about. So they came kinda pre-gutloaded... i'm hooked on the place, going back there on tuesday and see if the'll still hold up _________________ A good friend once told me, we are memory, without them we equal nothing.
I have mixed reviews on that place, product wise it has good prices but for there livestock i know and have heard of alot of bad stories, so be cautious when buying there and try to get a written warrenty on any purchases....W _________________ “Look down at me and you see a fool;

skillet and scott are great..i like them for herps but usually don't buy inverts from them..unless its a great deal ::lol::....they have 2 stores ones in Escondido...i dont know, i have never gotten anything bad from them(my rainbow boas, balls) but they get alot of t's from chris at krazy8's
i too have had mixed experiences. We bought a ball python there and her whole set up for a great price. She is gorgeous and very healthy. A friend of mine buys tons of stuff from them all the time and thinks they are the ONLY place to go.
She bought me my first T from LLL's for my birthday - a C. crawshayi sling. That sling has done very well and seems to be healthy. However, the guy wanted to set up it's enclosure and he made a HUGE enclosure for it. i rehoused it two times before i was happy with where she is.
i also acquired a couple WC OBT's from LLL's and they were in pretty bad shape. i thought they were going to be okay as they both made it through a much needed molt. However, both died fairly soon afterwards. So far these have been the only T's i have lost.
i probably wouldn't buy T's from LLL's again. While i agree with Warren that the prices on their supplies can be very good, i think that their T prices are pretty high. i know David gave us a great deal on those versi slings. i'd rather get 6 from David, than 1.5 from LLL's!!
I've never been to one of their stores, but I see them at all of the reptile shows. They have an occasional good price on inverts, but they generally don't know much about them.

I'm always out to make a quick buck. Hopefully again next year.

I went back with some friends who baught a Argentine Tegu, good price and very healthy, and yes got a guarantee. I also went with a friend who worked there for a long while and he had ALOT to say on the staff and products; a lil inside info that most people don't know.
He said the owner can be a jerk but is knowageble. There is one man working there who is extremely helpfull and knows what he is talking about (and very nice!), everyone else knows quite a bit also. He said they are clean and really try to give out top notch products, but watch out on some stuff that he pointed out to me. BTW my friend was fired a few years back for prank calling his boss and the boss didn't take it well :S
Also there is one guy there who knew alot about inverts, and was very knowageble on scorps... but i'd assume that most workers wouldn't know as much as he does. _________________ A good friend once told me, we are memory, without them we equal nothing.
LLL's is a great place to get your reptiles but I don't think they take very good care of their T's. They keep them in very small deli cups for most of their life until they are bought. I don't think they even have room to molt in the cup let alone get much water. When my aunt got the two OBTs they were thirsty and sat and drank for ever!
I shop there partly because I live in Oceanside and partly because I just like the place. Good folks, good products, and so far, healthy critters. I just picked up a B emilia and in the past I've purchased several other Ts and scorps all of which were in great shape. Good selection of products, live foods, etc. _________________ "I hold your opinion above all others, tribe elder." - Neshan W. Sarkisian
I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are in alphabetical order, like they should be.
well, one of the baby leopard geckos I bought from LLL Reptiles at the Del Mar show (Oct 7th, 2007) was looking kind of weak and lethargic.
Poor guy died in less than 24 hours after purchase. The other one is still doing great, and actually shed last night.
Their T's at the show weren't all in the best shape.....but not too bad either.
I called and haggled, and they eventually gave me store credit. I guess that was cool of them.....
So, my review is both good and bad. Good for selection, prices, and I guess their knowledge........bad because they don't always do their best to apply their knowledge to the care of their animals.
Another reputable source told me that they almost always have a dead animal or two on display at their shows, and they don't seem to do anything about it when they are notified.
