GoI: Emesaya - Stilt-Legged Bugs(f Reduviidae subf Emesinae)

Small to long body sized assassins, with extremely thin (thread-like you might even say) legs.  Emesaya species range from something like 5mm BL to 35+mm bodylength. First pair of legs are raptorial and bear superficial resemblence to mantid legs, as do Emesaya somewhat resemble mantids.  Emesaya also resemble very thin walking sticks.

http://nearctica.com/nomina/hemips/heterol.htm#anchor250819 has five species in North America.  At least one can be found in CA Very Happy

Emesaya McAtee and Malloch 1925

Emesaya banksi McAtee and Malloch 1925 (Emesaya)
Emesaya brevicoxa Banks 1909 (Emesa)
Emesaya brevipennis Say 1828 (Ploiaria) - {Giant} Thread-legged {Assassin} Bug
Emesaya incisa McAtee and Malloch 1925 (Emesaya)
Emesaya lineata McAtee and Malloch 1925 (Emesaya)

There may be people who like centipedes. I have seen people handling tarantulas and scorpions, but never a centipede handler. I would regard such a person with deep suspicion...Now what sort of man or woman or monster would stroke a centipede on its underbelly "And here is my big good centipede." If such a man exists, I say kill him without more ado. He is a traitor to the human race.
