Here is the pretty pede that I purchased from Krazy8s (Chris) at the SCABIES BBQ. This is also the little fiend that gave Andrew a bit if a scare after he was tagged by it while helping me get the darned thing out from inside my shirt. Laughing Razz It seemed to like my armpit ...not especially the best place to get tagged by some exotic centipede.
I was handling all of the pedes that Chris brought along ..fantastic pedes.. I wanted them all. I almost missed this one though...kinda got lost amongst all the other inverts Chris had displayed. I opened this one up and started playing with it and I knew right away it was about to have a new owner. I came to the BBQ with an invert budget of $0 (promised myself I wouldnt buy anything Rolling Eyes ) ...so I end up with the most pricey pede. Laughing
Chris informed me that this may be one of a kind at least when it comes to what he has seen being imported in. Andrew thinks it looks like a "Blacktip". I know very little about pedes, so I will be curious to see if an accurate ID can be made.

So, I finally got myself an exotic pede and Andrew finally got the "life threatening" pede envenomation that he has been so desperately searching for. Very Happy  Perfect!

Tonight figured I'd give it another go, but the damn thing was being a spastic little demon. Gave it a roach and it got distracted enough for me to manipulate it on to me. Though, even while chewing away, it still displayed crazy defensive manuevers.
Fast, spunky and very aware of whats going on around it! Twisted Evil

Anyway.. here is the little beauty...

beautiful pictures man!

i have a giant Cherry Leg here at home that is about 1 1/2 times as large, and double the girth......if you'd like to come and try handling it.

yeah yeah......everyone's going to make fun of that sentence as a gay sexual innuendo. go ahead.

anyway, my monster tagged me too....but not as bad as andrew, since it only got one "jaw" in me, and i pulled away fast enough. but it hurt like a b*tch

When u mentioned Indo blacktip I found some images someone posted ...i THINK it was at ATS (??) ...those along with the links you posted make me think that it could very well be the same sub-specie even if it was collected from a different area.
Mines blacker (head, tail and even the legs) but other than that I cant see any difference ...its tough (if not slightly on the side of impossible) to judge things like this using pics.

Could be an interesting and maybe worthy goal to ID this pretty pede.

I got to build a nice display enclosure for this one.

Anyway...
Ive always been extremely interested in centipedes ...more than Ts and WAY more than scorps.

I wish my largish scolopocryptop I caught along the river didnt croak. Bummed me out. Gotta get out there again sometime ...damn..wish it could be springtime for at least half the year!

Actually a decent amount of cash for a small pet ...and hell, like I stated above, I wasnt going to allow myself an invert purchase but what the hey, the thing blew me away. Wish I would have also taken the adult and babies he had there for $70 ...those freaky little blue headed ones ...mommy was beautiful, but her young really freaked me out.

HEllo Steven,
Your pede is awsome, I got a chance to hold him before it bite Andrew.

I got the Cherry leg with babies and I counted 75 babies, If I am not mistaken.
Perhaps one day I will be handling this guys as Andrew and you.

regards
ftorres.
