I "bred" my small (5.5") female regalis with Celeste's male back in late May.  I put bred in quotes because I didn't actually see them hook up, I just cohabitated them.  I kept them together for about a week or so until I started seeing the female chasing the male around the enclosure trying to eat him.  I used my standard method of putting both the female's and male's enclosure both into a larger container and leaving them both open.  After cohabitating, I kept the female's enclosure bone dry with the exception of a water dish and fed her a lobster roach every other day or so until a couple days ago when I saw her fattening up.  I then literally flooded her enclosure.  I didn't know if she was gravid or not until today when I held a flashlight under her and saw the same orange glow I saw with my gravid Avic avic!  She's small, so it is most likely not going to be a large eggsac.

Good luck, Kyle!  My female's abdomen is getting *enormous*!

(And my male is *still* drumming non-stop!  Little horn-dog!)  ;-)

Thanks Celeste!  If she does end up molting, I'd like to use your male again.  I know she's got eggs inside her ready to go!

Dang it!  She molted.  I was suspecting it since she didn't get any fatter than the previous pics.  Well, time to find another male... right after I turned Francisco's male back over to him too!  Oh well.

My male is still hanging in there if you want to borrow him again, Kyle.  But he isn't drumming at night anymore, so I don't know how much longer he will last.  I think he's kind of on his last legs.  (His palps are still bloody red, though).

I spoke too soon -- he was drumming again tonight.  So let me know if you want to borrow him again.

I'd like to borrow him, but, I don't know when I'd be able to pick him up since you don't want to ship him.  Is anyone coming down to San Diego anytime soon?

Well, maybe we can swap him if/when you come up for the Spider Pavilion or the Cal Poly Pomona show?  We'll figure something out...
