Ran it 'till the end and there are NO problems with the vid.

BTW, I was expecting to see him high tail it out of the female's presence.

That was a nicely documented Vid,

Did they mate again afterwards?
Was it successful and how many sacs did she lay?
Was this female previously mated?
How old after maturing did you introduce the male?

I just wanted to say that looks like a nice set-up, by looking at the neighboring enclosures I would venture to say that you fabricate your own enclosures...right?

If so, what dimensions do you use, and why that particular size?

Sorry about all the questions, these are just some that came to mind as I was watching. Truly enjoyable!

This is a bit back and I dont take records (ive been trying to change that lazyness).
in order:
No... that I know. ...Reds arent usually multiple maters ...at least not right away with the same male.

I have photos of her first sac ...and I dont believe she made more. Infact this one was a early mystery death.  I was never able to keep bishopi past a second captive breed generation.  I THINK I know why, but thats for another thread.

THis fem was newbie to the ways of spidie love.  She MAY have been exposed to a hesperus male or two while she was living outside of an enclosre for a week or so.  Thats always a danger ...sometimes it(x-breeding) seems to render the female incapable of reproduction.

Male was mid prime if I recall.  For reds ..? ...males mature within 5-7 molts (??)  ...something like that.

Wouldnt mind that sorta company one bit.  Wink
Im actually getting close to broke, so my budget for tools and toys has been greatly squeezed.... but Im planning on buying some really good glass working equipment.  Theres a guy on ebay thats supposed to be the man ...he sells stuff he makes and really high quality european tools that kick arse.  Jar cutters, circle cutters, really nice hand cutters...etc.  Anyway..darn it...I want/NEED more control over glass!   Razz

Hey Steven,

Let me know if you need a supplier for that kind of equipment...

or better yet check out:

CRLaurence, they are one of the best!

There is a couple of others out there, but I need to think a lil' harder for those.

No prob Steven,
I have a couple of ideas I'm toying with as well.
No equipment, but lots of turning gears... Smile
When are we invited to go over and play with the machines.... (I'm a tad more interested in the L's)
BTW  what literature would you recommend for further Latodectus -or Theridiid- reading? on Kaston and others.

I have been looking around at some things and have some things that I want to toy with -just want to read up on them first-

Any info is appreciated.
