There may be people who like centipedes. I have seen people handling tarantulas and scorpions, but never a centipede handler. I would regard such a person with deep suspicion...Now what sort of man or woman or monster would stroke a centipede on its underbelly "And here is my big good centipede." If such a man exists, I say kill him without more ado. He is a traitor to the human race.
i wouldn't necessarily want to try to keep these... but man, if they weren't too hot (i have no idea about the venom, but heteropoda isn't generally that bad, i think) they would be freaking SWEET to play with!
i bet, if they are serious rock livers like it appears in the vid, that they would have fairly burly and sharply curved foot claws and could possibly make little bleeding wounds just from crawling on a body... especially in places with wimpy skin like the inside of the elbows and what not
would love to find out _________________

hi,
a similar species was in the hobby here for some time (dunno if it truely was H. maxima - there has never been a proper ID). Apparently nobody managed to breed them.
@caco: You´re probably right, many troglodytic species have elongated tarsalclaws with reduced amount of teeth and also elongated legs. At some species even the eyes are reduced.
EDIT: There´s also a video on the net that shows P. Jäger crawling around in the cave trying to find the species again (successfully!).
