the only reason for that being near as small as possible is that the snake couldn't eat the kind of invert larva it does if it was smaller... but what about a snake from the same genus that evolved in an area with extra tiny bug larva?

i'll say!


have you seen the snake that is so specialized to eat snails with a right-hand-spiral that it takes 2-4x as long to eat LH-spiral snails... and sometimes just plain can't use its normal trick to eat them at all!  the snake has an asymetrical head, including different teeth and jaw development!
