NAT-CA: Bothriocyrtum californicum - CA trapdoor

i forgot about this and found the pics on my cam today

this was in October, 2008, i think

i was packing my trap up to ship out... apparently she objected to having her burrow dismantled and being forcibly removed from it

She bit in and buried her fangs to the hilt. i had to very carefully remove them by prying them out with a paintbrush Smile

Aside from a very slight ache i didn't notice much in the way of venom effect.

That is one vicious trap door. The bite looks like it looks worst that what it is.

by far the fangs were the worst part of getting bit

actually, having to carefully remove the fangs from my skin was the worst part.  i was worried that i would hurt her, but i got them out fine Smile

Wow!  Great action shots too!  She must have been really hanging in there.  I don't envy you that experience!
