Here's a page showing/describing Fire Skinks for those of you who are wondering what they look like:
http://www.herpcenter.com/fire-skink-caresheet.html
I'll try to post pictures of the parents at some point, but they are very shy and reclusive.

I think she might be working on one -- she has been in hiding since I think they may have mated on Sunday. _________________ "Tarantulas are friends, not food" (but I bet they taste pretty good with butter and lemon!) |

Hello Celeste,
I am not sure how the cooling down works for the Pokies, but make sure you drop the temps a little bit to stimulate an egg sack.
I will try to find out the proper temps.

Of that first clutch of six eggs, two went bad. Four are left, and the first of those four just hatched today:
(still waiting on the other three eggs, and keeping all fingers crossed).
And in the meantime, the smaller female of that trio has produced five new eggs:
I *think* she produced them a couple of days ago -- I saw that a lot of dirt had been disturbed in their enclosure, but I didn't get around to checking until today. (It is possible that they were laid earlier, though). One of them looks like it might be bad, but still four good looking ones.
Anyway, WOO HOO!!! I'll post pictures once all four of the first clutch finish hatching. That was 47 days from the time they were laid to the emergence of the first hatchling. _________________ "Tarantulas are friends, not food" (but I bet they taste pretty good with butter and lemon!) |

All four eggs have hatched now -- will try to post pix tomorrow (have had an exciting night, as one of my Prehensile-Tails just gave birth to twins, too!) _________________ "Tarantulas are friends, not food" (but I bet they taste pretty good with butter and lemon!) |

Sorry, but this is the best photo I could get -- they're skittish little buggers!
