I thought this was a Night-Blooming Cereus, but apparently not...

Still, *gorgeous* blossoms and lovely scent!  The blooms only last one night.  They open a couple of hours after sunset, and close by morning and die.

The poor leaves of the plant got horribly damaged during the freak hailstorm we had earlier in the year (March?)

When I was editing the picture above, I noticed a little surprise:

Went back outside and got another shot:

Sorry it's so blurry -- it was in an awkward place to try to get a closeup.  Is that a Mourning Cloak?  Its wings are not yet fully expanded, so it must have just emerged from a crysalis somewhere nearby.

Beautiful blossom and nice surprise!  Enjoy!

So that's what the plant is called. I have one in the back that is about to bloom as well.

Cool looking moth.

I love those blossoms. I've heard that in some places they use an expected bloom as an excuse for a party. A late night party. They all must be retired to be able to do that.

I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are in alphabetical order, like they should be.
