http://www.americanarachnology.or...ee/JoA_v28_n2/arac_28_02_0248.pdf

the article is cool and the pic is AWESOME

i do think a couple of the like, subconclusions drawn are a little suspect. i.e. because the author couldn't find a mature female's burrow anywhere near the spiderlings he assumes there is not one and thus assumes these spiders have been trucking in thair live for many meters.  he could have just missed the burrow and the spiders have been queueing for only a meter or two before he started watching them

still, a cool article & behaviour none the less

It's a sign that the Chamber of Secrets has been opened, and there's a Basilisk on the loose nearby.

I can't wait for the release of the next Potter movie where Aragog gets milked of his venom after he dies. That will be cool.

Guess who owes me a quarter? I saw the Half-Blood Prince today and the scene with the dead Aragog was short but pretty cool. I take PayPal or you can catch me at the next BBQ. Very Happy

Yup -- I saw it yesterday and realized I'd lost the bet, but I couldn't remember where this thread was.  I'll pay you next time I see you (or have someone else who is heading down that way deliver the quarter to you!)
