In order to get specific sizes you can go to your local hardware store (or Home Depot Sad ), well, just a hardware store that does screen and glass, they are likely to carry plexiglass.

I have to say, 1/8" PG is less expensive, but they will charge you by the sq. foot. They may also offer you 3/16" or 1/4" PG, the latter is far more expensive.

Another downside for plexiglass is that it might get a yellow tint on it over time (specially if sunlight hits it).

IF you want, you can buy a plexiglass cutter and buy the sheets in order to cut them yourself.

A sheet might come in a 4' x 8'... though they may sell you a half as well.

If you are buying bulk I recommend CRL

CR Laurence...  crlaurence.com
They have all the accessories you may need, and may offer other options as well, both in building material and hardware to put it together.

I think you might have to have an account with them, but maybe I'm mistaken. One thing I know for sure, if you have an account with them the price will be lower Wink

Hope this helps Smile

I can dig around for a couple of other links, but CRL is going to be the most complete.

Yes -- OSH has plexiglass, too.  (At least, the one near my house does).  And they will cut it to size for you.  But it is not cheap.

You can just use crazy glue (cyanoacrylate) to bond the pieces together.

the type of plastic that i'm talking about are the same type that are use to make breeder box or plastic pet enclosure, that kind of plastic is the one that i'm looking for. i'm not sure if that is flexiglass. the main reason i want to use plastic is because i want the enclosure to be light but at the same time viewable.

Plexiglass is clear, strong and light (lighter than glass at least), but like mentioned earlier, it may "yellow" out over time and is prone to scratching.

You can buy tinted plexiglass, too.  But not at OSH.  You'd have to find a specialty plastics dealer.
