Hello All,

Bill, Banana slugs can live up to a year or more in captivity.
that really depends on the care you give them.

They like cool temperatures and hate high temps in the middle 70s

Preferably keeping them at around 65-69 is ideal.

The love apples and Lettuce.
They Love higher humidity too.

they can vary in size

as adults they can be 4-7 inches in size
as youngs they can be a few mm to 2"

Coloration is mainly yellow, hence the name.
I have seen some brown spotted ones and a white one too  Shocked  Shocked

Fun facts

A Banana slug is the official mascot for UC Santa Cruz.

They have a mild neurotoxin in their slime (to discourage predators).  So you want to get it all off before cooking them...
