Hey Warren,

Do you know what Orchid's you bought? I am guessing they might be Phalaenopsis, or what they call the moth Orchid. My other guess could be Dendrobium. Pha's have large rounded flowers and Dend's have small more detailed and ornate flowers. These two species that I have talked about are the most common at retail stores. The Orchid is my absolute favorite flower! If you have any questions regarding husbandry ask me and I will see if I can help you out. I specialize in Phalaenopsis but I know quite a bit about most plants, I was raised a botanist! As far as good sites go:

You could try these sites listed below:

Orchid Society of Southern California
(http://www.orchidssc.org/)

The Orchid Forums
(http://www.orchidforums.net)

The Orchid Source Forum
(http://www.theorchidsource.com)

Or for an Orchid Site Database go to:

Orchid Wire
(http://www.orchidwire.com)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, I hope this helps. Also, I know of a couple of elderly gentlemen that live in Garden Grove that breed Orchids. Their entire back yard is nothing but Greenhouses and Orchids galore! I could introduce you if you would like? Have a great day!
